Grey whale encounters at this lagoon are handled with the utmost respect and care for the animals. We saw and interacted with whales on each of our trips into the lagoon. This camp is the 3rd closest to the lagoon. The camp was complete with solar and wind powered hot showers and marine flush toilets that are insanely clean. The wooden cabanas ensure a comfortable sleep – better than the other camps where heavy tents are subject to 15-20 mph winds during the night. The food was fantastic, the staff / customer service outstanding, and the memories of our time there will remain with us forever. We flew to the camp – very safe and without delays, and I recommend this method of travel even for the additional expense. All the camps in San Ignacio work cooperatively together to ensure that the whales are not crowded or stressed. This mutual understanding creates a safe environment in which whale encounters are the gift that we’ll treasure forever.
